Day Tripper is RISING’s music festival-within-a-festival, a live mixtape of music, art and performance.

Role | Creative Direction

Day Tripper is a sub-brand of RISING, targeted to Melbourne’s gig-going crowd, and positioned as a day party and an event of music discovery. For the marketing campaign, I led the creative direction of the visuals and copy. With a rotating lineup each year, for its second iteration (2025), designer Holly Edwards adapted the initial 2024 title treatment to reflect a shoegazier/guitar fuzz vibe and the headliners DIIV.

The sub-brand takes cues from the RISING masterbrand in both colour, type, and values (live). Beyond marketing, the Day Tripper brand was then applied in signage, stage design, and merchandise.

Holly had the brilliant idea of imbuing the video asset's music with 'liveness', by making it sound like you're hearing the music outside at a house party.
